4th March - Fishing net blues
The most important part of this design is the background. I drew a few experimental lines in my vector program and then "tiled" the square to create a seamless background, taking great care to match the lines to the exact pixel. The overall result reminded me of a fishing net so I added a few fish to complete the design.
Now the pattern is finished it could seem that the fish might be "trapped" in the net... I like to think they are just swimming above it.

3rd March Stripes
Well here they are my first ever repeat stripes. Stripes may seem easy to create but I have found out that that is not the case, especially when like me you feel it important to have an "idea" to support your design. So my underlying idea for these stripes is the number 3! Today's date is 3 / 3... look very closely at my square repeat and you will find lots of multiples of three! Flickr repeat here.
I do hope my friend Flowerlady likes them!

2nd March - Dandelions (again)
The 2nd of March is still about Dandelions. I could'nt resist doing yet another pattern using this motif. Dandelions "swaying in the wind" could be the title.
I was so pleased with the colour palette yesterday but must admit that today I'm not so happy. I had imagined a "sophisicated" overall result... but it has just come out a bit dull! (It is so annoying when you know that something is wrong but can't put your finger on it.)
However, I love the pattern it really does have a swaying movement to it. I am now planning to sway on to pattern number 3... which this time will definitely be stripes.
Don't forget to get a closer look on Flickr.

1st March - Dandelions
This Dandelion motif first appeared in my "Owls in the kitchen" Spoonflower fabric design. I had always intended to develop the design into a pattern on its own. My colour palette is purely casual... but I like it.
I will be also uploading all my March designs on Flickr... take a look here.
P.S. I have had a request for "stripes" from Flowerlady, so tomorrow might be stripes!
